Egret Over the Ashepoo

I'm getting ready for the Southeastern Wildlife Expo in Charleston, South Carolina in a few weeks.
I like to bring thirty to thirty-five original oils with me...so hoping I'll meet my goal this year.  I have been painting 7"x7" landscape studies for the past few years.  I've enjoyed painting them and decided to take the plunge and try the same idea in a larger piece.  This is a 20" x 20" oil on linen, based on a small study I did last year.  The photo is a little too dark - the egret have pure white highlights on them that I don't see here - but you get the idea.

  2. Stunning!!! I wish I had this in my home. The lovely muted colors and the flock of egrets, just beautiful. Bravo, bravo, BRAVO!

  3. Gorgeous work. The Egrets really "pop" with the muted dark background!

  4. Love it! The color variations without a lot of value change are really subtle and nice.

  5. Thanks! It's getting easier to paint these larger landscapes. I've turped out more than I've saved.
